Solihull Heart Support Group (SHSG) are delighted to announce that they have been awarded a Lottery Grant sufficient to support new Evening Exercise Classes
SHSG have been running 7 exercise classes and a Tai Chi class per week for cardiac patients for a number of years. We provide the follow on exercise sessions after patients have completed Phase 3 Rehabilitation at Solihull Hospital and it has become increasingly clear that people are suffering from cardiac problems earlier in life. Once patients have been cleared to return to work they find that there is not a facility to exercise in the evenings with the support of cardiac trained instructors. Our award is to fund the provision of two evening exercise sessions per week for one year and our hope is that after that the classes will be self funding. This is a new exciting venture for us and for younger cardiac patients in Solihull. We look forward to publishing details of these sessions and how to join within the next month.

We would like to thank all our donors, in particular, Master Builders Federation, Jaguar Land Rover, Solihull Lions and the Rotary Club of Shirley, whose generous donations have enabled us to continue running our daytime classes for the rest of the year. Whilst we endeavour always to be self supporting, when needed, we rely heavily on donations to carry out our work and are very grateful that there are those who are willing to support us and enable us to continue.
