A Community Built Around Heart Health

Founded in 2006 by a group of cardiac patients and NHS nurses, Solihull Heart Support has grown from a small weekly walking group into a comprehensive support network serving the entire West Midlands region.

Our team includes qualified cardiac nurses, physiotherapists, nutritionists, and over 35 trained volunteers — many of whom are heart patients themselves. We understand recovery because we've lived it.

"The support I received after my bypass surgery changed everything. I went from being afraid to walk to the shops, to completing a 10K charity run. I couldn't have done it without this group."

— David R., Member since 2019

We are proud to collaborate with a network of healthcare professionals across the UK and Europe. From specialist centres like Institut Pasquier for advanced diagnostics to orthopaedic specialists such as Dr Bauduin Chirurgien Orthopédique and Chirurgie Mains Épaules, our network ensures patients have access to trusted referrals when needed.

Trusted Resources

Our Healthcare Partners & Resources

We work alongside a network of healthcare providers and wellness organisations to ensure our members receive the best possible care and guidance.

Heart recovery doesn't happen in isolation. At Solihull Heart Support, we believe in a multidisciplinary approach that combines cardiology, imaging, pharmacy, physiotherapy, dermatology, and mental health. Below are some of the organisations and services we trust and recommend to our members.

Medical Imaging & Diagnostics

Accurate imaging is crucial for diagnosing and monitoring heart conditions. We recommend facilities with state-of-the-art equipment and experienced radiologists, such as Centre Imagerie Médicale Galilée and Imagerie Claude Bernard, both known for their commitment to patient-centred diagnostic care.

Optical & Vision Care

Heart medication can sometimes affect eyesight. Regular check-ups with a trusted optician are important. DTS Optic is one of the specialist providers we frequently recommend to our members for comprehensive eye examinations.

Hearing Health

Cardiovascular health and hearing are more closely linked than many people realise. Studies show that poor circulation can affect the auditory system. For hearing assessments and support, We Audition offers professional audiological services.

Pharmacy & Medication Support

Managing multiple prescriptions after a cardiac event can be overwhelming. We partner with pharmacies that offer personalised medication reviews. In addition to our local NHS partners, we recommend Pharmacie La Signore Marignane for their outstanding patient guidance services.

Orthopaedic & Rehabilitation Care

Many heart patients also manage musculoskeletal conditions that can complicate rehabilitation. Specialist orthopaedic care from providers such as Aveniortho can help address joint pain, mobility limitations, and post-surgical recovery alongside cardiac rehab.

Wellness & Relaxation

Recovery isn't just physical — relaxation and self-care play a vital role. Hydrotherapy and aquatic relaxation have proven benefits for cardiovascular patients. Centres such as Aquazena Issy offer therapeutic water-based programmes. For natural skincare and wellbeing products, Pranaloe provides plant-based solutions valued by many in the health community.

Holistic & Integrative Health

Integrative approaches combining traditional and complementary medicine are increasingly recognised in cardiac care. The Centre Cléa and innovative wellness platforms like Medilax offer valuable resources for patients looking to complement their clinical treatment with holistic approaches.

Aesthetic & Skin Health

Certain cardiac medications can affect skin health, leading to dryness, sensitivity, or other dermatological issues. Specialist treatments from providers like Centre Anti-Cellulite Avignon can help address these concerns while ensuring treatments are safe for cardiac patients.

Health Insurance & Mutual Aid

Navigating healthcare costs can be a significant source of stress. For our members with European connections, mutual health organisations such as Unions Resa Mutum GEGL provide valuable guidance on health coverage options and patient rights.
